Gift Wrapping - Make it Beautiful!!!
I thought today I would share a few gift wrapping ideas I've come across.I think this is the one for me...I just LOVE LOVE LOVE white. I'm thinking of doing this one for all my gifts this year. It's very whimsical and peaceful like an angel...I just LOVE it!!!
Wrapped with the cartoon pages of a newspaper and decorated with a fresh pink ribbon with polka dots, this gift looks just so fresh. The gift tag is a Moo card with Mervi's artwork. You could change the ribbon to any color you wish and add a little Christmas ornament with the tag. It's wrapped with white moiré paper. A soft colored green satin ribbon was tied around it and finished off with a double bow. The top was decorated with three artificial "snow covered" Hellebores flowers and leaves.

This and That...
I'm just in love with my new butterfly line and hope to list them in the shop shortly so I wanted to give you a little sneak peek first.
Today I think I will take the day to catch up on the overflowing laundry and get our Christmas decorations out so we are ready to put the tree later this evening, I'm always so excited to get the tree up, it gives the house (no matter where you live) such a homey feeling!
Hope you all have a lovely day and be sure to check back this week as I plan to list new items in the shop for great unique and one of a kind Christmas shopping.

A Positive Thought!
All of us have heard about the Great Depression of the 1930's. In fact, we might have grown up hearing our parents or grandparents talk about it ... about how tough it was and how it changed their lives forever. Now I hear people talk about the Great Recession of 2008, 2009, and maybe
beyond. And who knows if they're right or not. Economists, futurists, and fortune tellers seem to have about the same rate of accuracy when it comes to predicting the future.
But this I do know. Times are tough for a lot of people, and tough times
require COURAGE. And those who learn COURAGE and exhibit COURAGE always come through the tough times in the best shape. So how do you get COURAGE?
1. Practice persistence.
Keep on keeping on ... even if you don't feel like it. So what if you fall down? So what if you make a mistake? So what if you lose a customer, a business, a home, a relationship, or anything else that is vitally important to you? It's terrible, of course, but it's not the end of the world ... if
you practice persistent courage. As essayist Herbert Kaufman noted, "Failure is only postponed success as long as courage 'coaches' ambition. The habit of persistence is the habit of
victory." In other words, if you will simply hang in there, be patient, persistent, and courageous, more often than not you'll make it through the tough times in pretty good shape.
Michael Staver, an executive coach, puts it this way. He says COURAGE is an
acronym for:
Continuing
Onward
Under
Rigorous
And
Grinding
Experiences.
Personally, I can testify to the effectiveness of Staver's COURAGE acronym. It's gotten me through physical, financial, occupational, and relational crises more often than I care to count.
And then, in your efforts to build more courage ...
2. Make a conscious decision to pick yourself up ... each and every day.
That's what I saw some of the inmates do when I worked as a counselor at a reform school, Boysville of Michigan. Those who learned to pick themselves up ... instead of blaming other people such as their parents, teachers, or friends ... and those who learned to stop blaming other institutions such as
their schools, the system, or the government ... came out all right. And that's exactly what Reginald Berry learned to do ... even though it took him a long, long time. He spent several years behind bars, many of them in solitary confinement, in a room with only a sliver of natural light. His
meals were pushed through a slot in the steel door, and showers were permitted once a week.
Today, however, Berry is an upstanding member of the community. He works for two social service organizations, leads discussion groups of young homeless men, and negotiates peace treaties between gangs. He has his own nonprofit organization, SOS (Saving Our Sons), for which he makes
presentations in schools debunking the romanticized myths surrounding streetlife, gangs, violence and prison. You see ... many people would have folded under the pressure. After all,
Berry had more than his fair share of tough times. But Berry didn't fold. After his first night in solitary confinement, he began sleeping on the floor rather than the bed. As he says, it was a literal reminder for me, "Every day I got to pick myself up off the floor." I'm not saying you have to sleep on the floor of your bedroom, but I am saying you have to quit feeling sorry for yourself. You've got to stop whining about how bad your circumstances are, and you've got to start picking yourself up off the floor of your own little pity party. And you may have to do that every day. But that's why it's called courage.
And finally, you've got to ...
3. Know when to let go of your troubles.
Mind you, I said "let go" of your troubles. I didn't say deny, discount or dismiss your troubles.
In other words, it takes courage AND persistence to hang in there ... to keep on working your way through your troubles. But it also takes courage AND wisdom to know when to let go of your troubles. The story of "The Small Tree" makes that point. As Mr. P. says, he hired a plumber but got a lot more than some fixed plumbing in return. As Mr. P. says, on the first day of work, the plumber was an hour late due to a flat tire. Then the plumber's drill stopped working, and his truck
wouldn't start. So Mr. P. drove the plumber home, who sat in stony silence the entire way.
When they arrived at the plumber's house, the plumber invited Mr. P. to meet his family. But as they walked toward the front door, the plumber paused briefly at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands. When he opened the door, the plumber underwent an amazing transformation. His tanned face was wreathed in smiles, and he hugged his two small children
and gave his wife a kiss. Afterward, he walked Mr. P. to the car. They passed the tree, and Mr. P's
curiosity got the better of him, so he asked the plumber about what he had seen him do earlier with the tree. "Oh, that's my trouble tree," he replied. "I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing's for sure: those troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and the children. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home and ask the Almighty to take care of them.
Then in the morning I pick them up again. "Funny thing is," he smiled, "when I come out in the morning to pick 'em up, here aren't nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night before."
He's right. As Kenny Rogers used to sing, "You've got to know when to hold them, and you've got to know when to fold them." Like the plumber, you've got to have the courage to face your troubles, and you've got to have the wisdom to let go of your troubles. You've got to know there's always a
right time and right place and right way to disengage from your troubles
...at least for the time being.
...at least for the time being.
Action:
Figure out one way you can disengage from your troubles ... at least temporarily ... so you can keep on keeping on when the times are tough.

Happy Halloweeeeeeeen
Honestly I promise this photo wasn't photo shopped at all.
Funny thing... H.T.B was giving me a little foot rub the other night (hence the dots of cream on my toes) and I snapped a photo. Why? I don't know, but this is what happened....creepy, it even has a shadow.
Hope you all have a spooky Halloween and be sure to eat loads of candy! Think of it this way...
one of the only times of the year that you can eat a chocolate bar for breakfast, and not feel guilty!
Happy Halloween

Just For Fun
I'm super duper excited about a few new designs I've been working on and was hoping to post, but the weather is not co-operating...it's wet, cloudy and cccccccold. So the new designs will have to wait until next time. Trust me their worth the wait!
Red or White?Pick your poison...I think with dinner today's the perfect day for a nice glass of red ...red warms the soul.
I'm looking forward to the working days end, I plan to make perogie pizza for dinner...I love making new za's. One of my favorite meals...lunch or dinner, is pizza, and a great big salad!
Perogie pizza happens to be one of H.T.B's favorites (Boston Pizza) but I've never made one before and I'm winging it, so we'll see how it goes, I'll let you know.
(maybe I'll even remember to take some photos)
Yup Dante is a boy, and I painted his nails pink :0)
What can I say? I was bored, and he doesn't know the difference.
Although he doesn't look impressed!
Have a great week-end and if you missed it, be sure to enter my new giveaway.

Your Thoughts GIVEAWAY...
In addition to the jewelry, I have an obsession with all kinds of accessories. This being one of them. So in the New Year I plan to accessorize the shop a little. Hair beauties, belts and purses are just to name a few.
This purse is an ALL IN ONE accessory purse, with many different options...
----------------------------------
Need to accessorize that little black dress?
Her's 3 different ways with one little purse...
1.) Wear it all. Full wristlet
2.) Wear the bracelet separately (easily slip the handle off and it
doubles as a beautiful bracelet)
3.) Only feel like the clutch tonight? (again, slip the handle off for a more simplified look)
So here's how it works:
Please leave a comment on this post and tell me first... what you think of my new wristlet?
and last but not least...
I need a name?
Post your ideas and name my new practical clutch line.
(Hint: keep in mind all it's different uses)
You may enter as many times as you wish and you have until November 21st to enter
Please be sure to add your contact info for a chance to win new jewels from my shop
Good-luck!

Finally....
Since we moved here to the Okanagan Valley last year...Adam has been dying to see his very first Rattle Snake...and at last, here he is. I unfortunately missed it by about 5 minutes, oh well next time I guess. After all it was his crazy obsession to see one, not mine.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Letting Dante out to go to the washroom in the mornings have been quite the challenge lately because this is what I am waking up to each morning right outside my bedroom window.

Letting Dante out to go to the washroom in the mornings have been quite the challenge lately because this is what I am waking up to each morning right outside my bedroom window.
I know I showed a few the other day, but each day my camera fills up with more!
Dante goes crazy when he sees them, and wants to chase them through the hills. With his broken leg, keeping him settled has been quite a struggle!

A Mouse In The House
Yup...Lastnight my VERY manly (sorry for the sarcasim hunny) H.T.B shreeeeeked while in my studio assembling an air conditioner...I thought maybe he was a little frustrated cause there were no instructions, until I heard him say ......LISA....come quick!!!Still having no idea what was going on....I was walking down the hall, as I heard him shreek "ahhhhhh" again and that's when I saw it...a tiny flash of a grey run from one room to the next.
YUP we have a mouse in the house
I've never had mice before, and I always made fun of the girls who scream in utter fear when they see one.....but I have to admit....that was me....standing on the couch terrified!!!
Adam tried for hours to catch the little bugger, but I wasn't going anywhere near it, no way!!!
Very cute, but really don't want one as a pet!
So now we have to catch him...I really don't want to kill him, but I've heard if you just release it, he will return in no time.
I think I'll leave it for "hubby-to-be" to deal with....I just hope I don't see the little guy around while I work!!!

My cousin had a wedding social (an event before the wedding for the bride/groom to raise money to help out with wedding costs) and it turned out to be the actual wedding instead. Everything was decorated in black and white. The lights were turned down and there were candles on the table. It was all very romantic....and way cheaper than a great big wedding too.

Above is a photo of our local market, held in the main street of downtown Penticton where they shut down 2 blocks every Saturday morning. H.T.B and I like to buy our fruits and veggies from the local farmers there and try to make it every week-end! They also have a wide array of wonderful artisans and local musicians, it's a great way to start the week-end each and every Saturday morning!
H.T.B and I had "date night" on Saturday evening, (I just love these nights!) We went to see the movie "The hangover" (absolutely over the top hilarious by the way!) After the show we caught a bite to eat at a little cocktail bar on the beach above is a really neat photo of the view out the open window.
With not much to do Sunday afternoon, we decided to go for a drive and explore some more of the Okanagan we have not yet experienced...as we were discovering new areas and more homes for sale, we stumbled upon this little oasis called "The Frog City Cafe" in the heart of Linden Gardens, Frog City Cafe offers an eclectic atmosphere and a super fresh menu selection. Linden Gardens is home to 9 acres of lush perennial gardens, pathways and ponds. So we stayed for lunch.

A Look Into My World
Not much to say tonight...I really can't wait for the warmer weather it feels like it's taking forever this year! This photo was taken around this time last year when Adam and I came to Penticton B.C. from Ontario for his interview at Pentage Winery (where he is now the winemaker)
I can't believe it has almost been a year...one full year, so much has happened since then, most great...some not great at all...time really does fly by!
As you can see in this photo from last year the vines still need some time and haven't flourished yet...oh how I can't wait for everything to bloom, it's so beautiful here when everything is in full bloom. Well that's all for now my blogging peeps...hope everyone has a great and restful sleep! Goodnight all.
