Thankful

These pictures don't do justice, but our table is quite large to begin with and already seats 8 people comfortably.  This year we hosted thanksgiving dinner and had to seat 10.  So hubby and I got out the tools and constructed another 5ft to add to our dinner table.

Thankfully I have this base from an old table of mine that we were able to use.  After Adam added a plywood table top to it, it worked out perfectly!

As my wonderful hubby was working on the delicious soup that we were planning to serve as a starter, I was super excited to get started on the details for the table setting.
( below are the place cards I made for everyone.)

Our table was complete and looked beautiful

STARTER:
Butternut Squash and Apple soup topped with a seared scallop
followed by...
Foie Gras with plum puree and layered phyllo pastry

MAIN:
Butter herb and Orange Turkey, with hash brown cheesy potatoes and garlic brussel sprouts

DESSERT:
Lemon Creme Brulee, Mini Pumpkin Tarts and homemade truffles
(yum yum)

The night was a success, we had a wonderful time with great friends. After dinner and many bottles of fabulous vino we eventually moved the party outside where we sat around our new firepit and roasted smores, spidey weenies and marsh mellows while telling great stories and having a load of laughs. Thanks to everyone for such a wonderful Thankgiving!

~Take a moment today to thank who ever may be "your" God for your pets.
Enjoy them, and take GOOD care of them.
Life would be, and for me, is a much duller lonely and less joyful experience without these adorable little critters~

(In loving memory of our sweet little Olive who died very unexpectedly 2 days after I wrote this.
Olive You are greatly missed each and everyday
