Random Weekly Round-Up & Dinner

 

YAY... it's Friday

1.) I am so excited to announce the upcoming "Ultimate Womens Fair" at the Penticton trade and convention center that I will be a part of this year!

I hope you all will come out and enjoy this show...I am working on many new designs and excited to share them all with you.

2.) I''ll tell ya...when it rains it pours...I've got so much on the go right now, many shows coming up and possibly the farmers market for the last month that it runs. I'm not complaining...I do love it...I just hope I can keep up

3.) My mother-in-law is in town for a visit...I hope she hasn't been too bored while Adam and I have had to work during the days.

4.) Feels like Sat cause hubbies taking the day off to golf with his mom...he's in the kitchen making breakfast, smells so yummy!...we usually make breakfast together every Sat...what a nice feeling!

Yummy fresh from our garden tomato salad we had for dinner the other night...the weathers been so hot lately that our appitite has been small so this salad was a great switch up for dinner

Essentials in the Pearce Household - Fridge

 SRIRACHA

Only the best darn HOT chili sauce in the world

I honestly put this S#%T on EVERYTHING!!!

If you've never tried it and like a great flavoured hot sauce.  I suggest giving it a try...you can pick it up in the asian food section at your local grocery store

 SPARKLING WATER

Our fridge is never without it.

Hubby and I are not really soda drinkers, but if you are this is a great alternative with 0 Calories, 0 Sugar and low to no sodium (depending on the brand) we go through bottles and bottles of this pure goodness!

SOUR CREAM

As much as I like "Sour Cream" I will never adore it like my hubby does, and this is a good thing!

We always have sour cream in our fridge, and not the small size, not even the medium size...it must be the ex large size or else we'll find ourselves zipping to the grocery store just for sour cream (and I hate doing that!).... god forbid he has to have his favorites without it

I just LOVE when H.T.B disappears into the kitchen

and when he does, I always know something wonderful's to come...

He's a FABULOUS cook and I wanted to share a few pics of the food and wine we had over the course of the week-end...yummy carpaccio made with the fresh beef his father brought with him when he visited, capers, reduced balsamic, thyme pesto and fresh parm shards...
mmm-good!!! We paired this dish with a "Flowers" chardonnay...everything was so yummy!

... and these potatos are to die for, just look at how beautiful they are!

(6 hours to prepare...they better be fab, and they definitely were!)

Had dinner with friends the other night and they made

Bag-O Fish-O

It's a perchment paper bag filled with goodness, you can really use anything you want along with your fish. When you cut off the top of your bag the room is filled with the yummy aromas of it's contents. We had Sole with broth, fresh lemon, fennel and peas. The fish is cooked to perfection in all its yummy broth...moist and delicious!!!

and the greatest part...besides how simple it is, is how healthy it is!

SATURDAY MORNING
Above is a photo of our local market, held in the main street of downtown Penticton where they shut down 2 blocks every Saturday morning. H.T.B and I like to buy our fruits and veggies from the local farmers there and try to make it every week-end! They also have a wide array of wonderful artisans and local musicians, it's a great way to start the week-end each and every Saturday morning!

SATURDAY EVENING
H.T.B and I had "date night" on Saturday evening, (I just love these nights!) We went to see the movie "The hangover" (absolutely over the top hilarious by the way!) After the show we caught a bite to eat at a little cocktail bar on the beach above is a really neat photo of the view out the open window.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON
With not much to do Sunday afternoon, we decided to go for a drive and explore some more of the Okanagan we have not yet experienced...as we were discovering new areas and more homes for sale, we stumbled upon this little oasis called "The Frog City Cafe" in the heart of Linden Gardens, Frog City Cafe offers an eclectic atmosphere and a super fresh menu selection. Linden Gardens is home to 9 acres of lush perennial gardens, pathways and ponds. So we stayed for lunch.

And what a lovely lunch it was!!!
